NOV24 Macau’s hotel shortage is expected to spawn additional policy support for transport connectivity and Hengqin accommodation, as per a recent Goldman Sachs report. The report by analysts Simon Cheung, Alpha Wang, Leah Pan, and Dorothy Wong was compiled after investor meetings with Galaxy Entertainment Group’s executives in Singapore last week. Visitation to Macau these days has become more “family friendly”, drawn by a pipeline of concerts, events and new amenities at a time when multi-million-dollar gamblers are few and far between. “Most of their premium mass players have a daily theoretical loss or ADT of MOP15-100k, whose liquidity is well supported by legitimate channels, i.e., MOP20k brought across the border physically, MOP10k per debit card via ATM machines,” the analysts wrote. “These family-oriented customers tend to stay longer and spend on other non-gaming activities, hence allowing Galaxy to capture more wallet share.” Galaxy aims to restore its EBITDA market shar...
