The Macau SAR government intends to increase the proportion represented by the mass market in the gaming industry, strictly control the increase in gaming tables, and continue promoting the development of non-gaming elements, the draft plan for the city’s second Five-Year Development Plan indicates.

The Five-Year Development Plan draft plan was released yesterday for public consultation, with the policy plan to determine the path of socio-economic development of the Macao SAR the Government’s priority work for the next five years.

“We will adequately accomplish the works on the new tender for the award of new gaming concessions, increase the competitiveness of Macau’s gaming sector internationally; strengthen the work of inspection and law enforcement and perfect the structure of this sector,’ authorities say in the document.
