"Macau to see Vegas, Singapore revenue model"

mar26 In this regular feature in  IAG  to celebrate 21 years covering the Asian gaming and leisure industry, we look back at our cover story from exactly 10 years ago, “A Macau style casino in the US?”, to rediscover what was making the news in April 2016! By now, the long and sordid story of Imperial Pacific International and its failed Saipan integrated resort venture has become the stuff of legend. And yet, for all the legal and regulatory challenges that surfaced in the years leading up to the project’s demise, it is easy to forget that the company barely dipped a toe in the island’s turquoise waters on its original – and some would say absurdly ambitious – development plans. https://asgam.com/2026/03/30/10-years-ago-a-macau-style-casino-in-the-us/ jun25 Macau with a population of just 700,000 squeezed into just 33 sq. kms, saw 35 million visitors serviced by just 43,000 hotel rooms in 2024. Analysts at CBRE find that the skilled non-gaming labor shortage is accentuated. After lifting all the COVID-related restrictions this year, une...

Talentos

julho23 Authorities in Macau have announced that they’re rolling out a series of programs to attract foreign talent to the SAR, as early as August. Speaking at a panel, heads of some of the city’s main chambers of commerce lauded the move, noting that the city has been starved for new talent for years. https://agbrief.com/intelligence/deep-dive/06/07/2023/panel-foreign-talent-essential-for-macaus-diversification-attempt/?utm_source=Asia+Gaming+Brief&utm_campaign=4cfb212e51-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_5_19_2022_13_42_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_51950b5d21-4cfb212e51-69255637&ct=t(EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_5_19_2022_13_42_COPY_01)&goal=0_51950b5d21-4cfb212e51-69255637&mc_cid=4cfb212e51&mc_eid=31e20475e6
